KUNKEL I am trying to locate a place in Germany where my great-great grandfather (Henry Kunkel) came from. He left Germany in 1846 at the age of 14 and came to New Orleans. There he worked on the Mississippi River a few years and then moved to Evening Shade, Arkansas. Any help would be greatly appreciated. What have you tried so far? The Dardanelle Ar. library has records on the immigration through New Orleans. Nothing was found there.
