M. gave the following answers, File No. 2457.: Name, W. M. Konkle. Age, 75 years. County of residence: Lamar. How long resided & what is your Post Office address? 25 years; Glory, Texas. Occupation: Farming Physical condition: Bad health and Feeble Disability: Old age and disease Company and regiment you enlisted in the Confederate army, and time of service: Company F, 19th Mississippi Infantry, from 1862 to end of war - about 4 years. What real & personal property do you now own, and what is the present value of such property? 2 horses worth $70, cow and calf worth $30 What property, and what was the value thereof have you sold or conveyed within two years prior to the date of application? Nothing except my annual crops, amounting to $100 per year. Are you in indigent circumstances? I am Are you unable by your labor to earn a support? I am Did you ever desert the Confederacy? No Have you been continuously since the first day of January, 1880, a bona fide resident citizen of this State? Yes Signature: W. M. Date of his death: Febry 1902 Are you unmarried: Yes Have you been continuously since the first day of March, 1880, a bona fide resident citizen of this state? Yes. Signature: Malinda Konkle (her mark) Sworn & subscribed this 17 day of July, 1902, Wm Hodges, Co. Judge, Lamar Co TX. Witnessed by Mary Petty and C. L. Petty on 17 Jul 1902, that Malinda is the widow of W. M Konkle, Paris TX. The above couple has a possible connection with Rita Chance, PO Box 264, Hollis OK 73550. I received a copy of the applications from the Texas State Library and Archives Commission, PO Box 12927, Austin TX 78711-2927, and sent a copy of them to Rita.
