BOTH CONKLE and KUNKEL? The following obit is of interest to me mainly because a "Leman McCarrell" married Margaret Jeannette "Jenny" CONKLE (b 25 July 1878, d 23 Jan 1914, is buried at Mt Prospect Cemetery in Hickory, Washington Co PA), who was a sister to my great grandfather, William Conkle (also spelled Concle), and to David Shannon's grandmother, Rachel Francina ("Ina") Conkle--our Conkles also from Washington Co PA. I have no idea if Leman was related to this man.... If you read closely, you'll also see a reference to a "President Judge George Kunkel" of Harrisburg. I also do not see a likely connection between him and my Conkles. However, I'm always fascinated by seeming coincidences like this, and always on the lookout for that "missing link" to our Conkle/Kunkel etc families. Besides, of course, DNA testing. Jim Kunkle looks so much like my Uncle Bill Conkle, well, I just know we're all connected, even if you have to go back to Germany (or do a DNA genealogy!)...
