In the 1750's, Denis Diderot published his "L'Encyclopedie', and the pictures from this work have been reprinted by Dover Press in two volumes, ISBN-0-486-27428-4 and ISBN 0-486-27429-2. They contain 485 plates of Trades and Industry of the era.
