    3. -- [ From: Janet Reinhold * EMC.Ver #2.5.3 ] -- The following is from "Missing Links" mailing list. Apologies to anyone who already subscribes to it, as this would then be a repeat. I have included instructions on how to subscribe to this email list in another message. Janet Reinhold [email protected] ================= FREE LISTINGS OFFERED TO AUTHORS AND PUBLISHERS OF FAMILY HISTORIES IN THE FAMILY HISTORY VOLUME SUPPLEMENT TO GENEALOGICAL & LOCAL HISTORY BOOKS IN PRINT Genealogical Publishing Co., the publisher of "Genealogical & Local History Books in Print," (G&LHBIP) is delighted to make a special offer to authors and publishers of family histories. G&LHBIP is now accepting free listings in the forthcoming Family History Volume Supplement, to be published in the fall of 1998. This supplement will include information on family histories, pedigrees and compiled genealogies that have become available since the publication of G&LHBIP's Family History Volume in 1996 or were not included in that volume. First published in 1975, G&LHBIP is a multi-volume bibliography containing thousands of listings of genealogical books in print. The fifth edition of G&LHBIP, published in 1996-97, currently consists of four volumes: the Family History Volume, the General Reference & World Resources Volume, and two U.S. Sources & Resources Volumes. The Family History Volume alone contains more than 4,600 listings of available family histories, organized alphabetically by surname for easy reference .. Publishers and authors of family histories are invited to send the following information to G&LHBIP for inclusion in the supplement: title of their family history(ies); author(s) or editor; date of publication; whether the book is indexed and/or illustrated; whether it is cloth or paper bound; the price, including shipping; a short description of the book; a list of important allied surnames to be included in the surname index; and ordering information. There will be no charge for listings. Please send information by March 31, 1998 to: Marian Hoffman, G&LHBIP, c/o Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc., 1001 N. Calvert Street, Baltimore, MD 21202. 1. From listowner
    2. MRS JANET E REINHOLD
    3. -- [ From: Janet Reinhold * EMC.Ver #2.5.3 ] -- 1. Reply To List. I think it might be a good idea to set this list to "reply to list". Right now, it is set up to reply to the sender. Any comments, anyone? What this means is that you can hit your reply button, and your message would be sent to the whole list instead of just the person who wrote the message. This is a convenient feature, but one which can be misunderstood. Replies meant to be private may be unknowingly "broadcast"--thus resulting in mistakes which can't be un-done.... 2. Closed List. Right now, this list is an "open" list. That is to say, anyone can post to it (like I've just done from my other email accounts, which aren't 'subscribed'). Although we haven't been 'hit' yet, it IS a possibility that we might be 'hit' by "spams". One option which I have as listowner is to make it a closed list, which means only those folks who BELONG to the subscriber list may post, or those which are designated "okay" to post can be allowed to post even though they aren't subscribed. Does anyone have comments as to the desirability of this action? 3. Archived Messages. I have okayed this list to be archived, which means that you will be able to retrieve old messages from the Rootsweb website. Some people may fear that their information might be used against them in some way, perhaps by "spammers" looking for email addresses to get their advertisements sent to. I see the archives retrieval process as beneficial to getting our information shared and thereby we would ourselves gain by getting feedback on it. If anyone has a problem with this, now's the time to air it! 3. Hi I am searching for another name I found sometime ago, and it has been a puzzel to me. Can anyone tell me who NANCY A. KONKLE is? She is buried in Long Run Cemetery, Craig Township, Switzerland County, Indiana? Her headstone reads: Nacny A. Konkle, wife of John d 3 Jan 1882 aged 33 yrs, 4 mos, 32 days. She is in row 6 #1. Also two other Kunkle's are bugging me. I can't make a connection to them. They also are in Long Run Cemetery Row 4 #23 KUNKLE, David 3 Feb 1840 - 16 Mar 1900 Row 7 #11 KUNKLE, Mary 6 Mar 1810 - 29 July 1895 John 2 Dec 1904 - 17 Apr 1889 I sure would like to know who they belong to. I have a big gap, actually I can't prove anything past 1864 in Indiana, and can't find which line of "K" are mine that came from PA. Of course all this is speculation. I'd like something I could actually verify. Thanks for any help.
