Only that if the obit was from the Kansas City Kansan, you might also ask for a look-up in the Kansas City Star/Times, where obits were also posted. In the case of my grandfather, who died in KCK, the MO obit and coverage of his death circumstances was better. That would be the Jackson county board, or, you could request film from your local genealogy center. It probably wouldn't offer any different info, but the mortuary should have kept a file on the deceased. I also urge you to contact the Wyandotte county courthouse, in case he filed a will. Wills can be rich with info. And if he lived in Wyandotte county for very long, the Wyandotte county museum might have info on him. The Trowbridge Library is pretty good about offering whatever resources they have. They have some wills; the latest that I've ever accessed there was 1936. I don't know whether they would extend to '59. You should tell them what you already know. They might have lists of county people who served in WWI or WWII. http://www.wycokck.org/dept.aspx?id=770&menu_id=1012 Those draft and military records are rich with info and available online at the National Archives. http://www.archives.gov/ More good luck, Pat Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
