Social Security Death Index Search (http://ssdi.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/ssdi.cgi) This is a good place to look, but does not turn up an exact match. The closest match is: BETTY J BARBER, b. 23 Jun 1923, d. 18 Jun 1999 (Proof), Last Res. 66104 (Kansas City, Wyandotte, KS), SSN 510-22-2207 Issued in Kansas. Her death date shows as 1999. Otto's dates match what you supplied. Intelius http://www.intelius.com This is a public record search, which usually extracts information from county records like property transactions. They want you to pay to retrieve more information, but I would not do it. What they list for free gives you some pretty good clues: Name: BETTY J BARBER Age 84: (projected age) Previous Cities: KANSAS CITY, KS; CAMDENTON, MO Relatives: OTTO A BARBER, YVONNE F BARBER, DEBORA A BARBER, DENNIS O BARBER So this projected age matches the birth date found in the SSDI above. Obtaining Birthdays in One Step http://www.stevemorse.org/birthday/birthday2.html using www.birthdatabase.com. Now that you have an approximate age, you can try to find an exact birthday in this database. I believe this database is also compiled using public records. Once again, the only good match that I find also matches the SSDI record: BETTY J BARBER, age 84, b. Jun 23 1923, location Kansas City, KS 66104 With the known approximate birth date, you might be able to find her in the 1930 census, and therefore a birth location.
