"The Kansas City Times" (Missouri) Friday, November 30, 1894 A CHICKEN THIEF'S QUEER LUCK. Mike LOGAN, rushed madly into Police Surgeon LUTZ's office at daylight yesterday morning with a wound in the calf of his left leg and two chickens in each hand. He explained that he had stolen the fowls, and that he had been bitten by a dog while making his escape. Dr. LUTZ attended the man's injuries, which were rather severe. The man was unable to pay the surgeon's fee, but left the chickens as a guarantee that he would soon return with the money. He never came back, and now Dr. LUTZ wants to know what to do with the birds. LOGAN refused to state where he had committed the theft. ====================================================== (I have no connection with this family but I'd appreciate knowing if you found this posting helpful.) johnobrien@kc.rr.com ======================================================
