I think anyone that grew up in KCK was fascinated with this house (if they were like me!). We'd pass it while on the way to Grandma's house, which was in DeSoto, KS and the fact that it was so huge and those statues on the sides of the front porch pillars lent many an hour of mystery and wonderment......I always wished I was related to the people "with the cool house", because you just knew there was mystery and ancestry tales that abounded......not to mention (you hoped) an old attic full of forgotten treasures!!! It's so nice to know who the home belonged to. If it weren't for John suggesting the Mailing List email, no telling how many more years would go by and I would still wonder about this great piece of architecture!!! Thanks to everyone! Melissa, thank you for your message. I enjoy reading memories like this and I invite others on the List to share their growing-up memories with the List when a posting jogs their memory of an earlier time!
