I have a week off work, so thought I'd join and read the archives to see if anything connected to my research turns up. My name is Judy. I live in Southern Oregon. My gggrandfather, Robert Henry NEWTON settled in Atchison Co., in 1855. His son, Periander C. NEWTON left home in 1861 to train as a doctor. In 1869 Periander settled in Piper and started a family. Eventually his parents came to live with him later in their lives. They are all buried there. I would hope that I can share some of my research with anyone interested and perhaps learn something about the neighborhood (as I've never been there). Judy jryden@charter.net
