Joyce Bigham Ogden 65, passed away December 13, 1995 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Lawrence, Ks., of cancer. Services will be at 1PM Saturday at the Porter Funeral Home; burial will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery. Friends may call 6-8 PM Friday at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the MD Anderson Cancer Institute, Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX 77030. Mrs. Ogden grew up in Kansas City, Kansas the daughter of Frank and Susan Bigham, and attended White Church Grade School and Washington High School. Following High School she attended Kansas City Kansas Community College, where she was a cheerleader and Home Coming Queen. She then attended Kansas State University and Kansas University, where she continued as a cheerleader and was also a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. After college, she taught school in Pratt, Ks., and also in Kansas City, Kansas, at White Church Grade School. On December 30, 1956, she married Harold D. Ogden, who survives her at the home. From 1964 through 1986 she resided in Kansas City, Kansas where she was a member of the Bethel United Presbytarian Church. She was very involved in community and civic organizations, and wad a member og yhr Daughters of the American Revolution, as well as the BC Chapter of PEO in Kansas City, Kansas. She also served on the Corporation Board of Chi Omega at the University of Kansas for several years. In 1986, she moved to Lawrence, Kansas where she resided, surrounded by her family until her passing.
