Judy, as you know, Kansas City (Wyandotte County) Kansas and Kansas City (Jackson County) Missouri are side-by-side. Sometimes a person living on the Kansas side died in a hospital or residence on the Missouri side. If so, Missouri death certificate can be found at the following site: http://www.sos.mo.gov/archives/resources/birthdeath/default.asp Also, sometimes Kansas people married in Kansas City, MO. You can find Jackson County marriages at the following site: http://records.co.jackson.mo.us/search.asp?cabinet=marriage Maybe some of your NEWTONs crossed the State line. Judy: I've been on vacation and just saw your post of 1/14/09. I live in what is or was called Piper Kansas and I have run across the Newton name often. There was also a Gale Newton I believe. My first thought is that many of them are buried at the Maywood cemetery in Kansas City Kansas. Maywood was another small town very near Piper. After I get caught up on my paperwork left undone from pre vacation, I'll check my Piper Kansas records and send you what I have IF you'd like. The surnames in Piper that I am researching are: Treff, Barker, Storm, Witt, Litchen, Hilty, Bornhauser and ANY old Piper information, including the names of non family connections but of those with long time Piper connections, ie. Waldron, Scott, etc. Happy Hunting and have a great day. Oh yes! I'd love any info you can get. We have Gale Newton Jr. and he has joined the DNA group for Newtons, so soon we may have more information. Thanks. Diane, I've seen Piper mentioned in old news articles. About where is/was Piper. Is Piper an old community like Rosedale, Armoudale, etc. but is now KCK?
