To make all the necessary preparations, the library will have to close the Genealogy Branch at 317 W. 24 Highway, Independence, MO for a considerable amount of time leading up to the move. We understand that people plan for months in advance for trips to use the library. If you are planning a trip to the library, we strongly encourage you to call or send email so we can let you know if your trip might fall during the time that we are closed. Once we determine the actual dates that the library will close and the opening of the new Midwest Genealogy Center, we will post that information on the library's website.
