    3. "The Kansas City Times" (Missouri) Tuesday, December 28, 1915 DEATHS IN KANSAS CITY. Samuel DeLaney GREGG died yesterday afternoon at his home, one and one-half miles south of Independence, where he had lived nine years. He was born in 1831 at Independence and spent most of his life on a farm near Blue Springs. During the Civil War he served as a justice of the peace. In later years he devoted much attention to horticulture. He originated a fine species of blackberry and his raspberries won for him a diploma from the world's fare in St. Louis On July 3, 1856, he married Miss Elizabeth Ann BRACKNEY, who survives him. There children are: Mrs. F. M. LYLE, Hatten, Wash. A. S. GREGG, Fulton, Kas. Mrs. Clara ASBURY, Kansas City, Mo. Mrs. Lizzie WEBB, Quenemo, Kas. Harry GREGG, Ortulla, Wash. J. Riley GREGG, lived with his parents C. E. GREGG, lives on a neighboring farm Miss Josie GREGG, Ortulla, Wash. He was a brother of Capt. W. H. GREGG of Kansas City, of Josiah GREGG of Visalia, Cal., and of Mrs. James HENDRICKS of Helena, Mont.
