Wm and parents are dead, so she really dosnt know anything about their background. Just thought I would throw that info to you.Kathy Since Kansas City, Kansas and Kansas City, Missouri are only separated by a river it occurred to me maybe there was an error back in the 1800 which state a person was really born in or died in. If they have always use he "river as the border" the earthquake in 1811 did change the river. I know this was before Kansas was a state; however, we have had floods and this could possibly have changed it. Also the Corp of Engineers (whenever they started) made changes to the rivers and its tributaries. I think the corps started in 1775. This is all just crazy possibilities I know....but I have been told we people who like genealogy are a bit this way. 3. That Wm lists his father as being born in France in a census and does give the father as George. I got the impression it was an unrelated family. But.......... I don't know about the river theory, but people who lived in KCK - the city itself - often moved back and forth to MO. So yours is a great point to bring up. It's worth checking KCMO. There are marriage records online. Didn't see your people. http://records.co.jackson.mo.us/search.asp?cabinet=marriage here are also city directories that go way back. And the state death records are also online. The site seems to be down right now. http://www.sos.mo.gov/archives/resources/deathcertificates/ The thing to know when searching is that pre-1910 records haven't all been scanned into the database yet.
