Thanks for the good thoughts, Vanette. It looks as if there is a happy ending. Helen found a second husband and then the death certificate for Irene Bernice at the fine MO site. She is sending off for same. The interesting twist to everything is that while I was trying to find info, I stumbled upon the fact that Irene Bernice's gggrandfather is the same man as my child's ggggrandfather(through my former husband). It's a small world.
