This is from a national obituary database from Newsbank, Inc., "America's Obituaries and Death Notices". It's available through many libraries, although it mostly has listings for deaths for only approximately the last ten years. The Kansas City Star has online access for the last ten years. There's a charge from the site but it is free at many libraries. There is also an historic Star/Times that goes back to the 1890s, however, searches aren't reliable and there is a gap between about the 1960s to the 1990s.
