This is your lucky day, Carolyn. The Witherspoons have unusual enough names to come up in a digital search of old newspapers. The service that I've using may have more on the family. It is available from home through my library and called Newspaper Archive Elite." I have an obit for J. Bert and a notice of funeral for Lulu and an engagement announcement for Ward's son. Perhaps there was no obit for Lulu in the Missouri papers but will be in Wyandotte county. The KS papers aren't digitized and you will have to look through them on micofilm. I will send the obits off list as attachments.
