I am mailing you off-list a 1944 obituary for Arthur C. Albright.(Kansas City Star, The 1944-10-18) I will have to send it as a .jpg attachment as it was copied from an Adobe Acrobat .pdf file. This was available through a search of digital Kansas City Star archives, which are available through many libraires throughout the country. Since it sounds as if he was only in the area for a year, he may not be in any city directories. They do exist in an archive at the Kansas City, MO, public library. I will not be able to search them for you. His marriage is probably something that you will have to seek from the county where he was married. It doesn't sound as if it was Jackson or Clay. He may not have been married early enough for there to be published listings. If you have not, you may be able to get more info on him, such as the address of his widow, from the Ft. Leavenworth cemetery. I sense that you may be confused about which counties will best serve your search. The pictures that I sent you were from 8th Street in Kansas City, Jackson, Missouri. So they were for the correct place. He lived in Kansas City, Jackson county, Missouri. Ft Leavenworth cemetery is in Leavenworth county, KS. North Kansas City is in Clay county, MO, with parts of it in Platte county, MO. Butler is in Bates county, Missouri. I'm not at all sure why you are posting to the Wyandotte, KS, county group. Kansas City, KS, is quite a different place from Kansas City, MO, although they are next to each other. The Kansas City Star and Kansas City Times are MO papers that serve Kansas City, Wyandotte, KS, as well as NKC and KC in MO. In fact, many people from outlying little towns list obituaries in the Star/Times because it has a very wide circulation out in the farm communities. The only Arthur Claude Albright that I could find in the WWI draft registrations is as follows. He lived in MN. I will have to mail off-list as this is also an image. If you do not know about it, for a charge, you can now order the complete military records of your loved one online from the National Archives in Washington, D.C. https://eservices.archives.gov/orderonline/start.swe?SWECmd=Login&SWEPL=1&SWETS= World War I Draft Registration Cards, 1917-1918 Record[image: info] about Arthur Claud Albright Name: Arthur Claud Albright City: Minneapolis County: Hennepin State: Minnesota Birthplace: Minnesota;United States of America Birth Date: 22 Jul 1890 Race: Caucasian Roll: 1675684 DraftBoard: 12 Best of luck in your next steps of following this info, Patricia On 1 Jul 2006 03:11:51 -0600, sholt@netpenny.net <sholt@netpenny.net> wrote: > > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: Albright Family > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/HAB.2ACI/848 > > Message Board Post: > > Looking for Telephone Directories, Newspaper Obituaries and a Marriage > Certificate look up, on these names and dates only, {Albright/Smith-1935 > thru 1944} > > Names Known as: > Arhtur Claude Albright {or Claude Arthur Albright, 1894-1944 Died and > Burried at Ft.
