This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Albright family Thank's Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/HAB.2ACI/848.1.1.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: I was looking for the County that Arthur Claude and Blanche would have been married in, this seems to be an obstacle.. My Grandfather Albright was a Bigamist, having been married to more than 1 woman at a time. No- we are not looking for relationship, just tracing his moves from what we know. His 3rd wife, our Natural Grandmother's Mother had him arrested for this, somewhere between the dates of 1932-1937 after my mother's birth. This would have been done in the Stronghurst, Ill, area-BUT, because of the wide range of whom we have already meet from Grandmother's side only vague memories remained. So what we are working on is a detailed gene family chart for later generations, Also, as the curiosity to this story, Children between him and his 4th wife would also be nice to be able to add to our gene charts, for our stories to pass on. We know all 4 wifes names Irene, Martha P. Eva Mae-ours, and Blanche Smith, Than he dies!! Honorably I might add too, he must have been a very very busy man.. All Marriages are within a reasonable distance per marriage, so from apx 1920 according to census, this man lived a very time consumming hobbies. We just don't know why, other than Maybe this could be Military related-MULESKINNER.. Someone else I spoke with also had a friend from that era that was a MULESKINNER and felt himself to be a ladies man too.. We Do honostly wonder thought could this have ran in the family?? Any way, any other children would also be nice. Iv' enjoyed chatting with you, this is alwasy funny when I have to explain it... We have been to Kewanee many times know, not much is left, and we have many copies of her obiturary and so forth, we are happy with this. Just Curious. Sincerley, Sherry/Mary
Wow! That is INTERESTING. I wonder how many men did the same. Just moved and married again. Years ago there would not have been good checks in place to know if that happened. Maybe you will luck out and find that Blanche and Arthur were married in Bates county, since you know, from the obit, that he lived there and her daughters remained. Hopefully, it will turn out to be her home town and she even went back from KC. And do try the Nat Archives, if you have not. I wonder also what effects the gas from WWI had. There might be some articles or someone on a military board might know if that made men "live dangerously". Congratulations to you. It sounds like you have found a lot of very good info. I know that it couldn't have been easy. Your mother is very lucky to have you working on this.
