Two persons were injured in a street car accident on Quindaro boulevard, between Tenth and Eleventh streets, in Kansas City, Kas., last night about 7:30 o'clock. The injured were Bert MAXWELL, 24 years old, a teamster employed by the American Transfer company and living at 1319 Franklin avenue, Kansas City, Mo., and Homer DOWNER, 19 years old, living at 1300 West Twenty-third street, Kansas City, Mo. MAXWELL was delivering groceries to a store in Kansas City, Kas., and DOWNER was accompanying him on the trip. They had made the delivery and were returning when the accident occurred. When they reached a place between Tenth and Eleventh streets an eastbound car struck the wagon from the rear with such force that both men were thrown backward into the wagon bed. MAXWELL struck his head in falling and received a scalp wound. He was also bruised about the legs. DOWNER fell across the edge of the wagon box, injuring his back. He was picked up unconscious and taken into the home of John RANKIN, 1011 Quindaro boulevard (Kansas City, Kas.), where Dr. PALMER attended him. His condition is serious. Later DOWNER was brought to his home in this city. ====================================================== (I have no connection with any of these families but I'd appreciate knowing if you found this posting helpful.) johnobrien@kc.rr.com ====================================================== neirbo7 Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
