"The Kansas City Times" (Missouri) Thursday, February 27, 1896 END OF THE COUNTY MORGUE. Coroner BEDFORD yesterday gave notice to undertakers Eugene CARLAT, D. W. NEWCOMER, E STINE & Son, J. F. SUTTON and John W. WARNER that he would discontinue the county morgue after April 1, giving as the reasons that the keeper of the morgue selected by the undertakers had violated his instructions; that certain signers of the agreement to sustain the morgue had withdrawn their support, and that after attempting in good faith to carry out the terms of the contract that it materially interfered with the proper discharge of his duties imposed upon him by the law. ====================================================== (I have no connection with this family but I'd appreciate knowing if you found this posting helpful.) johnobrien@kc.rr.com ======================================================
