They are four siblings who, according to an obituary 1891 in Sweden, all lived in Kansas City. Christina Augusta Pettersson, b Apr 10 1853 in Sweden and married to Johan Forsberg. Johan Oskar Pettersson, b Dec 1 1855 in Sweden. Anna Kathrina Pettersson, b Jul 28 1858 in Sweden and married to Carl Edvard Degraw. Axel Reinius Pettersson, b Jan 31 1867 in Sweden. Their father, Carl Johan Petterson, b 1829 in Sweden, left for the US around 1858 and returned to his family in Sweden around 1866. Things must have gone well for him in the US as he returns to the US in 1873 together with his wife Kristina Karolina, b 1834 in Sweden, and their 6 children. As the obituary doesn’t mention two of them I assume they died in Kansas or on the boat across the Atlantic. They are: Jonas Peter Oscar Pettersson, b Apr 1 1852 in Sweden. Carl Otto Pettersson, b Nov 11 1872 in Sweden. On Jun 20 1876 Emma Lovisa Pettersson is born somewhere in Kansas. She is my great grand-mother. When the parents return to Sweden, perhaps in the late 1880’s, she is the only one of the children to follow them.
