This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Dyas Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/HAB.2ACI/877 Message Board Post: Seeking information on Richard Dyas, according to the United Methodist Minister database Richard Dyas died in Wyandotte Ks on March 4, 1872. Are there other sources available in this County that may give more information on his death during that time frame?? (i.e. News papers, Death Records etc.) Any help would be much appreciated.
Hi, There are not county death records until around the turn of the century and I can't think of a newspaper that goes back that far. However, different parts of the county had different papers. Your best bet would probably be to find a cemetery stone. Since he is a minister, he might also be noted in a book. I suggest that you contact the Wyandotte County Museum and see if they have any ideas. http://www.wycokck.org/gen/wyco_generated_pages/Historical_Museum_m386.html There's also the KS Historical Society. http://www.kshs.org/ Good Luck, Patricia On 11 Nov 2006 03:53:19 -0700, craigd@clearwire.net <craigd@clearwire.net> wrote: > > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: Dyas > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/HAB.2ACI/877 > > Message Board Post: > > Seeking information on Richard Dyas, according to the United Methodist > Minister database Richard Dyas died in Wyandotte Ks on March 4, 1872.
