He was married to Miss Julia Stafford in Johnson county in 1864. Seven children were born of this union, 4 of whom are living. He came to Missouri in 1866 and settled in Atchison county. Came to Jackson county in 1873 and has lived here ever since. Interment was in the Flanery graveyard on Sunday afternoon. as told to me by Mildred E. Scott Hollinger Known as "Zip" Goodwin in Missouri He and Julia came up the Ohio River to the mississippi River to the Missouri River and landed in Westport Landing ( later known as Kansas City, Missouri) and settled there. Remembers H. H. Goodwin as having a long white beard. Also was told the Stafford's didnt like Henry Harrison Goodwin,she was from a very rich " royal" family and they didn't think he was good enough for her. Julia P. Julia Stafford , a native of Virginia, was born in 1841. At age two years she went to Kentucky where she made her home with her grandparents. In 1862 she was united in marriage to Henry H. Goodwin, coming to Missouri soon after, and has been a resident of Missouri since that date. Mr. Goodwin and one daughter preceded her several years ago in death. Besides her three sons, a daughter and five grandchildren survive. Mrs. Goodwin was a member of the Lee's Summit Christian Church, having united with this church about 8 years ago.
