"The Kansas City Times" (Missouri) Saturday, December 30, 1911 Mrs. Howard McCUTCHEON DEAD. Mrs. Julia McCUTCHEON, wife of Howard McCUTCHEON, president of the Brockett Cement Company and member of the board of public welfare, died at her home, 20 West Fifty- third Street, at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon. Mrs. McCUTCHEON had been ill several weeks, but her condition was not regarded as serious until Thursday night. Mrs. McCUTCHEON was a daughter of the late Capt. Henry GOSS, founder of the Goss Heating Company. She was born in Alexandria, Va., January 15, 1865, while her father was serving in the Federal Army. The GOSS family came to Kansas City when Mrs. McCUTCHEON was a child. Mr. and Mrs. McCUTCHEON were married twenty-five years ago. There are no children. Mrs. McCUTCHEON is survived by one sister, Mrs. Joseph BRAY of St. Louis, who was with her when she died. Mr. BRAY will arrive this morning. "The Kansas City Times" (Missouri) Monday, May 24, 1915 THE HARRIS FAMILY REUNION. The fifth annual reunion of the HARRIS family was held at Greenwood yesterday. Of the 489 descendants of Rhoda and William HARRIS who settled near the present town of Blue Springs, Mo., in 1830, 106 were present. William and Rhoda HARRIS had fifteen children, of whom two survive, S. B. HARRIS, 85 years old, at whose home the reunion was held, and J. H. HARRIS, 83 years old, owner of a park near Lees Summit. O'BRIEN, 2903 Guinotte Avenue. Mr. HENDRICKSON was 79 years old and came to Kansas City in 1849 by boat. He was born in Boston. One son, Joseph HENDRICKSON, Jr., and three daughters, Mrs. Lillie SUTTLES, Mrs. Mary O'BRIEN and Miss Pearl HENDRICKSON of this city survive. "The Kansas City Times" (Missouri) Monday, February 17, 1913 LOST $7,500 IN THE FLOOD. Dr. John F. DuVALL, 65 years old, died of apoplexy Saturday afternoon at his home, 1408 Garfield Avenue. Doctor DuVALL had practiced here since 1903, when he lost his home in Armourdale {Kansas City, KS} and $7,500 in cash in the flood. The home had been occupied only one night. The money had been drawn from the bank to make a payment on property purchased by the doctor on Garfield Avenue. When he reached his office after the flood the cigar box containing the money had been washed away. Doctor DuVALL was born in Waynesburg, Pa. He served in the Union Army during the Civil War. He was married to Miss Sadie A. BERRYHILL at Waynesburg at the close of the war. After graduating in medicine ten years later he moved to Des Moines, Ia., where he practiced twenty years. Besides the widow, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Mary HOARD and Mrs. Grace KENNEDY, both of this city; Mrs. Nannie McINTYRE of Des Moines, Ia., and a brother, former Senator G. H. DuVALL of West Virginia. Funeral services, under auspices of the Summunduwat Ledge, No. 3 I.O.O.F., will be at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the home. After being ordained as a minister at the First Presbyterian Church in Independence last night, Arthur G. PEARSON, who has been a business man in Kansas City, Kas., was installed as pastor of the church. The pulpit had been vacant since last September, when the Rev. C. C. McGINLEY resigned to become home mission superintendent in Missouri. Mr. PEARSON preached for the congregation several months last winter. The installation sermon was by the Rev. George L. ROBINSON of Chicago. Others assisting were the Rev. Gerrit SNYDER of Kansas City, Mo., Mr. McGINLEY of Independence; the Rev. H. H. SHAWHAN of Kansas City, Kas., and the Rev. John H. I found Richie/ possibly Archie Kelley in the 1930 census in Wyandote KS with a son Lewis S. Kelly born about 1926/7. Says Born in KS. I can't find any ancestors in the area in prior census. NOT sure if this is the same Lewis Kelly that is living in the area now. I am looking for ancestors of Lewis Stanley Kelly born abt 1927 who was in the Navy and Marines and now lives near there for 30 years or so. Had twins in High School there around 1980 Patrick Lewis Kelly and Kathleen Kelly, born in CA in 1965 Mother Kathleen Chesney Kelly died in 1996. "The Kansas City Times" (Missouri) Saturday, December 9, 1911 A SWORD THAT HE'S PROUD OF. One of the treasures of William G. MOSELEY, city salesman for the Ryley-Wilson Grocer Company, who lives at 123 Park Avenue, is a sword which was given to Priestly N. O'BANNON, a great-uncle of Mrs. MOSELEY by the state of Virginia for his service during the war of United States with Tripoli. Mr. O'BANNON was a color bearer and planted the flag on the ramparts of the city of Derne, in Africa, in the siege of that city in 1805. He was the first American to plant the American flag on foreign soil. The sword has been handed down from generation to generation. Mrs. MOSELEY was the daughter of Lieut. Col. George T. COTTON of the Union Army. Bernice WOLF, 1234 Indiana Avenue, won first prize, a silver medal. Mary SEAWELL, 1327 East Ninth Street, was awarded second prize, bronze medal, and honorable mention was given Leonora K. SHOWALTER, 3224 Lexington Avenue.
