    1. [Wyandotte County] Mr. R. I WALDEN d. 10 June 1917 - Kansas City, MO
    2. John O'Brien
    3. "The Kansas City Times" (Missouri) Monday, June 11, 1917 FIND BODIES OF TWO MEN. Two men were found dead within two blocks of each other early Sunday morning. No clew to the identity of one body could be found. Not far away, R. I. WALDEN, a hot tamale vendor, lay where he had been dragged behind a signboard at Twenty-fifth Street and Southwest Boulevard. His money was gone and his tamale wagon had been rifled. But the coroner's jury decided his death was due to heart and kidney trouble and whisky, as the robbery could have been committed after his death. He was taken to John J. Sheehan's undertaking rooms. WALDEN was a former railroad employee, and held a union card. However, about a week ago he was held up and this card taken from him. His wife in Memphis has been notified of his death. ====================================================== (I have no connection with this family but I'd appreciate knowing if you found this posting helpful.) johnobrien@kc.rr.com ======================================================

Author: AKCatarooskie Surnames: CERNICH Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kansas.counties.wyandotte/1609/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi all, I've been using some microfilm at my local Family History Center to try to find records of marriages in Wyandotte County. Specifically, I am looking for information on the marriage of John CERNICH to Mary (unkwown) abt 1894. I know that in 1900 they lived on Tenny Ave, but I could not find them--or any of the other Croatian surnames in their cluster--recorded in the marriage indexes of Wyandotte County from 1892-1907. I know that in the 1890s or so many Croatians lived across the river before in flooded in 1903 - as someone who is unfamiliar with the area's coutny boundaries, is it possible that their marriage would be recorded in a different county? 1. [Wyandotte County] Kelley/Kelly who lived in Wyandotte county 1930
    2. Looking for the Archie Kelley/Kelly age 26, family who lived in Quindaro, Wyandotte, KS in 1930 Ancestry lists him as Richie Kelley Wife was Bernice age 22, both these are listed as born in KS. Three Children Edwina Kelley, age 6, Leonard age 4, and Lewis S Kelly age 2. There is a mother listed as Therisult R. Kelley age 35 who must be a step mother as she is to young to have a child 26, unless they noted the age wrong, besides her birth state indicates she is not mother of Archie. Siblings of Archie are listed as Edna Kelley (14) and Ada Kelley (9). So far the only death record I can find is for Bernice who died in 1974 in Wyandotte county KS (SSDI) birth 1907 Lewis S. Kelly spent years in the military service, retired to Bonner Springs in 1970's. Wife Kathleen Chesney Kelly died there in 1996. Two children Patrick and Kathleen Kelly went to Bonner Springs High School.( born in CA 1965) Lewis Kelly married several times but only two know children. Kathleen Chesney lived in CA and married a Nichols and divorced him prior her marriage to Lewis in Nevada in 1963. I have been unable to find any records of the Kelley/Kelly family prior to 1930. Any help would be appreciated. **************Get the Moviefone Toolbar.
