The Washington Republican Washington County Friday October 8, 1897 Married. At the home of the groom's parents, six miles northwest of Lamar, Neb., Mr. L.M. HAIT and Miss Cora DENISTON were united in the holy bonds of wedlock, Monday, Sept. 20th, 1897. The ceremony took place at high noon in the presence of a few invited friends of the contracting parties. After the ceremony the guest gathered around a bountiful repast consisting of all the delicacies of the season. The numerous freinds of this couple will be pleased to learn of this happy conumation of a long courtship. The bride is one of Washington's brightest and most popular ladies. Until about a year ago her home was in this city. Several years of her life were spent in the school of this county and that she was eminently qualified for her vocation is amply demonstrated by the evidence of her excellent success in the work. Mr. Hait is well and most favorably known as a good student, teacher and industrious young man generally-just the kind to win and deserve success. After spendinf four years in the Washington Academy, and being graduated with high honors in '95, he went west and secured a farm in southwestern Nebraska. He spent one year in the schools of Nebraska as teacher, then went into the grocery and dry goods business at which he is still engaged. If intellligence, industry and thrift be the criterion of the future we may safely join with their wide circle of well wishers in prediciting for them a prosperous and enviable voyage across life's sea.
