Merry Christmas everyone. I am looking for information regarding my great grandfather, JOHN D. or JOHN N. SHEPARD. He was born in Spurgeon IN about 1874 and was a schoolteacher in that area before coming to Kansas in the early part of the 20th Century. He may have been elected to the Kansas Legislature (from Greenleaf) in 1908 or thereabouts. His wife was CORA DELL MASON born in Oakland City IN. They had two surviving sons, CARL MASON SHEPARD and FLOYD DAVID SHEPARD. Their father, JOHN SHEPARD died about the age of 40 to 44. He had Huntington's Disease. Cora remarried ADEN WICKHAM of Norton County around 1924. I am wondering if anyone is willing to do lookups for me there. I am specifically looking for JOHN SHEPARD'S date of death and his burial place, as well as any imformation I can find concerning his state of health up til his death. I'd also like to confirm if my greatgrandfather is the same fellow who served in the Legislature,and what his occupation was.
