Hi, I am researching my Shild/Shield and Boettcher families from Washington Co.- Hanover area. In particular Frederick and Johanne Catherine Shield and William and Johanna Shield Boettcher. Anyone else researching these line! Fredrick Shild was born about 1834 in Germany and he and his wife Johanne C. came to America on the ship 'Herman' in 1882. The children that immigrated with them were: Martha, Fred, Jr., Hugo, George, Otto. After arriving in Kansas they had two more daughters. Their oldest daughter was Johanna Shield and she came over to America about 2 months before they did on the ship 'Neckar'. Johanna is my great grandmother and she married William Henry Boettcher. I am trying to find the date of death of Fredrick Shield. All these lived around Hanover Kansas so Fredrick would havre died there sometime after 1895.
