The Washington Republican Washington County Friday April 9, 1897 Mrs. Nancy PENWELL, one of the oldest resident of Washington, Kansas, died in her home April 2, 1897, and was buried April 4. Funeral services were held in the M.E. church conducted by Rev. BOWMAN, assied by Dr. HAGEMAN of the Presbyterian church. Mrs. PENWELL had been a member of the Methodist church for over 40 years and was one of the faithful ones in attending the various services of the church, and in Christian life as well. Her husband and four children preceded her and three children are yet living. The many friends extend their sympathy.
