    3. The Washington Republican Washington County Friday March 5, 1897 A.J. WHITMORE has been in town all this week. Mrs. MILCHRIST returned to her home in Chicago Wednesday. Miss Frankie NIMS went to Clifton this week to remain for an indefinite time. Art. DRIPS came down from Haddam tuesday to attend the wedding of his brother. E. MARX sold a fine organ this week to Joe FOBS, the only colored man who resides in this county. Attorney Fred SMITH went to Marysville Tuesday on professional business, returning Wednesday. Mrs. J.T. WORLEY went to Grand Island, Neb., last Saturday for a month's visit with a nephew. Miss Kittie JONES went to Concoreia Wednesday to spend a week or more visiting her sister, Mrs. Sage. (Note: This is more than likely Concordia.) Jake BURNS, the Honover stock dealer, was here Monday. Mr. Burns is a candidate for the Hanover post office.
