The Washington Republican Washington County Friday February 26, 1897 Mrs. McGowan Dead. Friday night, Mrs. Sarah J. McGOWAN, age 63 years died here of grip. SHe was born in Baltimore, Md., and moved here in 1876. She was twice married and was the mother of eight children, three living, William and James McGEE and Harry McGOWAN. All of them live in Chicago and were here to attend the funeral Monday. The funeral was held in Hanover conducted by the Catholic priest for Mrs. McGowan was a member of the Catholic church. Mr. McGowan, her aged husband, remains to mourn the loss of a devoted wife and has the sympathy of a large circle of friends.
