    3. The Washington Republican Washington County Friday February 19, 1897 Mr. and Mrs. Simon STOUT came down from Haddam Saturday to visit their son Alvin and wife. A.J. FREEBORN had to abandon his work visiting schools the first of the week on account of the grip. Miss May BROTHERTON, who has been visiting her home folks for two months past, returned to Omaha Monday. D.M. SNODGRASS, who has been editing a paper out at McCracken, has sold out to his brother and his here again. Misses Maggie McGUIRK and Mabel STORM went to Hanover Saturday to visit the former's sister over Sunday. Mrs. SIMON spent a few days in Haddam last week returning to this city Monday, the guest of her sister, Mrs. S. HAWK. Mrs. Lillie STEWART, who has been visiting in the home of Mrs. Ira MATHEWS, returned to her home in Fairbury Tuesday. Alfred WARD left over the B & M. Tuesday for Detroit, Mich., where he will probably accept a positiion in a jewelry store. Miss Lilliam LAMPE who has been visiting her cousin, Mrs. T.C. WATERMAN, for four months, departed for her home in Pittsburg, Penn., Tuesday. Mrs. James ALGIE went to Morrowville Wednesday evening returning Thursday noon. She reports a grand revival in that place and that many are being brought into the fold.
