    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Tuesday January 18, 1966 Milton Nickels. McLouth.--Milton G. NICKELS, 72, McLouth, died of cancer Monday in a Winchester hospital. He was born March 18, 1893 at Burlington, Iowa, and spent most of his life in the McLouth community. He was active in initiating the soil conservation program in Jefferson County. He was a member of the United Brethren Church at McLouth. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gladys Nickels, of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Arleene SLACK, Paola; three sons, Robert Nickels, Oskaloosa, Jess Nickels, Livingston, N.J., and Carroll Nickels, Palo Alto, Calif.; a brother, Russell Nickels, Gorin, Mo.; two sisters, Mrs. Katie MOHR, Gorin, Mo., and Mrs. Lela SMITH, Wyaconda, Mo.; and 11 grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the United Brethren Church at McLouth. Burial will be in McLouth Cemetery. Hampton Funeral Home at Oskaloosa is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
