    3. The Topeka Daily State Journal Saturday September 14, 1918 Deaths and Funerals. The funeral of Mrs. Frances VARDY who died Saturday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. HAGGARD, 430 German avenue, will be held Sunday morning at 9 o'clock from the residence. The body will be sent to Estelline, Texas for burial. Nellie SMELSER, age 45(?), died Friday night at her home, 495 Reno avenue. The funeral will be held from the Oakland Methodist church, Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Burial in Topeka cemetery. Mrs. Anne Elizabeth LANGLEY, age 61, died Friday morning at her home, 211 East First street. She is survived by her husband, three daughters and four sons. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock from Penwell's chapel. Burial in Topeka cemetery. (Note: Yesterday's newspaper had address on West First street.) J.W. SIDWELL, age 83(?), for the past twenty years chaplain of Lincoln Post G.A.R., died Friday at his home, 101 Elmwood. Funeral will be held at the First Methodist church Monday afternoon at 2:30. Burial in Mt. Hope cemetery. Ella LOPEZ, age 1 year, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Pedro Lopez, of 220 Jefferson street, died Friday evening. The funeral will be held from the residence Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Burial in Mt. Calvary cemetery.
