The Topeka Daily Capital Saturday January 29, 1966 Starr Murphy Sr. Dies; Rites Set. Starr MURPHY, Sr., 74, 1135 College, died Friday in a Topeka hospital. He was born April 4, 1891 at Frankfort in Marshall County. He was a machinist for Santa Fe Railway 30 years before he retired. He was a member of Topeka Lodge No. 17, AF&AM. Survivors include two sons, Starr Murphy, Jr., 1812 Crest Drive, and Donald E. Murphy, Mobile, Ala.; and three grandchildren. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home. Burial will be Memorial Park Cemetery.
