    3. The Topeka Daily State Journal Friday October 18, 1918 Deaths and Funerals. The Rev. L.S. JONES, age 56, died Thursday afternoon at his home, 219 Tyler street. He was the secretary of the Methodist home for the aged, and had been a member of the Kansas conference for 29(?) years. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Jones; five daughters, one of whom is with the army in France. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence. John VETTER, 130 Branner street, died Thursday at his home. Funeral announcements later. Clark HENRY, age 24, died Tuesday in Baltimore, Md., according to word received here Thursday night. He lived in Topeka until three years ago and was employe dby the Capper publications. He is surivived by his wife and little daughter, his parents, a brother, Cecil Henry. The funeral was held in Kansas City today from the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Henry, 217 East Thirty-Fifth street. Charles Richard BINNS, died Monday at a training camp at Nitro, W. Va. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. H.M. Binns, 1611 North Kansas avenue, and three sisters, Mrs. Nellie RETTER, 1611 North Kansas avenue, Mrs. Grace GARRET, route 4, and Mrs. Esther CHRISTIAN, Colfax, N.M. Miss Madge PATTERSON, formerly of Topeka, died Wednesday evening in Kansas City. Her sister, Mrs. R.M. McGAE lives at 910 West Fouthteeth street, Topeka. Mr. and Mrs. McGAW will accompany the body to Blairsville, Pa., for burial. Frederick M. JOSEPH, age 32, died Tuesday at Fort Riley. He lived formerly at 823 North Kansas avenue. He is survived by a brother, A.L. Joseph, of New York City, who is now in Topeka. The funeral was held this morning at 10:30 o'clock from Penwell's chapel. Burial in Topeka cemetery. Mrs. Ella B. SHEPARD, formerly of Topeka, died October 11, in San Bernardino, Ca. She was the wife of Ref. J. M. Shepard, former pastor of the Third Christian church of Topeka. Mrs. N.F. HANDY died this morning at 1 o'clock at her home, 1275 Topeka avenue. Funeral announcement later. Mrs. Wilhelmina BREDEL, age 60(?) died at her home, 1625 Forest avenue, Kansas City, Thursday morning. Funeral will be held from the residence in Kansas City, Sunday afternoon, at 3 o'clock. B. SPRINGS, died last night in a local hospital. The body will be sent to Chillicothe, Mo., for burial. Margaret Lavina RILEY, the 3-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elgin Riley, of Route 6, died Thursday. The funeral will be held from Conwell's North Topeka chapel at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Burial in Rochester cemetery. Mrs. Vesta PLACE, 1030 Jackson street, died Thursday in a local hospital. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock from Penwell's chapel. Burial in Mt. Hope cemetery. Mrs. C.W. BROWNING, died Wednesday at her home in Cedar Rapid, Ia. She was the daughter of J.E. ATWOOD, 1511 West Sixteenth street. The funeral will be held Sunday morning at 11 o'clock from Penwell's chapel. Mrs. Katherine HEITMAN, died this morning at her home, 316 Quincy street. She is survived by six children, John, Charley, Kate, Mrs. William BRIGGS, Mrs. Quinton PROSPER, Mrs. Frank McRAE, and a brother, Louis STEINHAUS. THe funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock from Penwell's chapel. Burial in Topeka cemetery. The funeral of John COWEN, who died Tuesday in Chanute, was held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the home of his mother, Mrs. ella Cowen, Twenty-Second and Jefferson streets. Burial in Mt. Auburn cemetery. The funeral of Mrs. Elizabeth HOLZMEISTER, who died Wednesday at her home 1113 North Locust street will be held Saturday morning at 9 o'clock from the St. Joseph's Catholic church. Burial in Mt. Calvary cemetery. The funeral of Frank M. SIMON, who died Sunday at Fort Riley, was held this morning at 9 o'clock from St. Joseph's Catholic church. Burial in Mt. Calvary cemetery. The funeral of Doris HANSON, who died Wednesday in a local hospital, was held this afternoon at 4 o'clock from the residence, 410 Clay street. Burial in Topeka cemetery.
