The Topeka Daily State Journal Monday April 22, 1918 Mrs. Johnson Dead. She Was Widow of Prominent Kansas and Santa Fe Pioneers. Mrs. Alexander S. JOHNSON, 74 years old, died at her home in the Virginia apartments this morning. Mrs. Johnson was the widow of the late Col. A.S. Johnson, a Kansas pioneer, and one of the first big men in the Santa Fe in Kansas. It is said that Colonel Johnson was the first male child of the white race to be born in the territory of Kansas. The funeral of Mrs. Johnson will be held tomorrow afternoon at 4 o'clock form the Virginia. Burial will be in Topeka cemetery.
