    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Tueday April 4, 1961 Rites Pending for Topekan, H.W. Quarles. Henry E. QUARLES, 74, 319 Kline, died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Dec.18, 1886, in Hopkinsville, Ky., and had been a resident of Topeka since 1920. Mr. Quarles was employed as an elevator operator at the storehouse of the Santa Fe Railway. He was a member of College Avenue Seventh Day Adventist Church where he was a member of the board of deacons and the missionary men's organization. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Beatrice Quarles of the home; four daughters, Mrs. Carnetta BROWN of Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Rosetta PRESTON, 2501 Madison; Mrs. Josephine MINTER, 1439 Brock; and Ruth Quarles, 301 Hancock; four sons, Robert T. Quarles, 1197 Lane, William Quarles, 1411 N. Tyler, Dana Quarles and Ricciardo Quarles, both of the home; 25 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one brother, James Quarles of Indianapolis, Ind. Gaines and Son Funeral Home will announce arrangements.
