The Topeka Daily Capital Friday November 4, 1960 Topekan, 83, Dies; Rites Set Monday. Harry W. WRIGHT, 83, 717 E. 6th, died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 11, 1877, in Indianapolis, Ind., and was a resident of Topeka 22 years. He was retired from the U.S. Army in 1932 after 30 years of service, much of which was spent in the Philippines. He is survived by his widow, violet B., of the home; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Margaret L. SILVERSMITH, 830 N. Jackson, Mrs. Hazel OWENS, Perry; two stepsons, Lewis A. GUFFEY, of the home, Clarence GUFFEY, Orlando, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Emma READING of Middleton, Calif., and Miss Nellie WRIGHT of Kansas City; and one brother, Roy WRIGHT of Sweet Springs, Mo.; eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Wall-Diffenderfer Chapel. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
