The Topeka Daily Capital Tuesday March 7, 1961 Manley Smith Services Set for Thursday. Manley G. SMITH, 67, 2533 Kentucky, died Monday in a local hospital after a long illness. He was born March 7, 1893, at Ottawa and lived in Topeka since 1924, coming here from Denver. Mr. Smith was a member of Highland Park Methodist Church and was employed at the Veterans Administration Hospital until his retirement in 1957. He served with the armed forces overseas during World War I. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Lillian Smith of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Sydney JOHNSON of Belmont, Calif.; two grandchildren, and two brothers, Murry Smith of Overland Park and Clarence Smith of Artesia, N.M. Services will be a 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Penwell-Gabel Chapel. Place of burial will be announced.
