The Topeka Daily Capital Sunday February 5, 1961 Mildred Drenning, Organist, Dies at 81. Mrs. Mildred H. DRENNING, 81, 1514 Washburn, a noted organist, died Saturday in a Topeka hospital of injuries she received in a fall at her home Nov. 8, 1960. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Topeka more than 60 years and was church organist 46 years. She was music supervisor of Topeka Schools from 1904 until 1918. Mrs. Drenning was born Feb.10, 1879, at Napoleon, Ind., and moved to Kansas when she was five. Mrs. Drenning was graduated from El Dorado High School in 1893 and Kansas State Teacher College of Emporia in 1896. She received her B.S. degre in organ from Kansas University in 1912. She was a member of American Guild of Organists, Kansas Guild of Organists and taught the Loyal Women's Class of the church for nine years. She and Frank G. Drenning, a Topeka attorney, were married Christmas Day, 1918. He died in 1941. There are no known survivors. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday at the First Christian Church with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery. Wall-Diffenderfer Mortuary is in charge.
