The Topeka Daily Capital Wednesday May 3, 1961 L.E. Pendleton Is Dead at 61; Rites Pending. Lige E. PENDLETON, 61, of Route 8, died in a Holton hospital Tuesday. He lived in the Topeka area since he was six-years old. He was a farmer. He was bron August 25, 1899, in Indiana. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Laura R. Pendleton at home; a son, Wayne Pendleton, 1400 Fredith; his mother, Mrs. Myrtle Pendleton, 214 Freeman; five sisters, Mrs. Tressa CATT, 1503 Sage; Mrs. Ina FINLEY, 2532 Kansas; Mrs. Mary MORRIS, 205 E. 5th; Mrs. Esther CARVER, 2509 Ohio, and Mrs. Ethel VICTORY, 2316 Michigan; four brothers, Roy Pendleton, 922 N. Michigan, Wallace Pendleton, and Melvin Pendleton, both of Route 8, and Johnny Pendleton of Phoenix, Ariz.; and one grandson. Parker Mortuary will announce arrangments.
