The Topeka Daily Capital Friday October 12, 1951 Mrs. Ida D. Scales. Mrs. Ida D. SCALES, of 713 East 10th, died Thursday evening in a local hospital after an extended illness. She was born in Tennessee and had lived in Topeka more than 50 years. Mrs. Scales was the widow of Greene Lewis Scales who died July 24, 1949. She was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Lewis G. Scales of 715 East 10th, and a sister, Mrs. Hazel CARPEN of Los Angeles, Calif.
