The Topeka Daily Capital Friday October 12, 1951 Carl D. Wells. Carl D. WELLS, 78, died Thursday at his home, 923 Huntoon, after a long illness. He was born November 27, 1872, in West LIne, Mo. He was in the grocery business at Sabetha for 25 years and later was secretary of the Chamber of Commerce at Holton. He was associated with the Kansas State Historical Society after moving to Topeka in 1930. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Allie B. WELLS of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Opal E. PECKHAM and Mrs. Mildred F. REEVES, both of Denver, Colo.; a granddaughter, a great-granddaughter and a sister, Mrs. Mary J. EDIE, Louisburg, Kan. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home with burial at 3 p.m., Monday, at Freeman, Mo.
