    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Monday February 6, 1961 Veteran Police Official Dead. Giles Iran CRAMPTON, 71, of 435 Clay, veteran Topeka police officer and former secretary of the Kansas State Peace Officers Association, died Sunday night in a local hospital following a brief illness. Crampton joined the Topeka Police Department in 1933 and retired from the force in 1953. He served as secretary of the Kansas Peace Officers Association from 1943 to 1955 and during most of that period also published the association's official monthly magazine. He was born Mar. 17, 1889, at Pawnee City, Neb., and had been a resident of Topeka since 1929. He was a Mason, a member of Media Grotto and the Eagles Lodge. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Loren G. CUFFEL of Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. B.D. WAGNER of 3215 Topeka and Mrs. Joseph E. DERRYBERRY of Bartlesville, Okla.; a brother, Lee Crampton of Pawnee City; and two sisters, Mrs. Ruth CONNELLY of Los Angeles, and Mrs. Inez BLISS of Chicago. Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home will announce arrangements.
