    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Sunday November 11, 1951 Rev. Luis Buldain, 52, Died In Santa Monica. Friends of the Rev. Luis BULDAIN, former pastor of the church of Our Lady of Guadalupe here, learned Saturday of his death October 22 in a hospital at Santa Monica, Calif. Father Buldain had been living in Watts, Calif. Father Buldain was pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe from 1924 until 1929. He was 52 years old at the time of his death. He was born in Riezu, Navarre, Spain, where he is survived by his mother and four brothers. He was a priest of the Order of Augustinian Recollects. He was ordained in 1922 at the age of 23 in Medellin, Columbia. his life was spent among the poor of the United States and in jungle missions of Panama, Santa Domingo, Puerto Rico and Colombia. >From Topeka, Father Buldain went to California in 1929, and in 1931 was pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, San Diego, where he built a church and rectory. In 1933 he was made pastor of a church in Watts, where he remained until 1936, when he was appointed superior to the AUgustinian Recollect monastery in Kansas City. >From this post he left for the Missions of South and Central America. In the middle of World War II he returned to California, his health impaired. During his final illness Father Buldain asked to be buried in the cemetery of San Miguel chapel in Watts.
