The Topeka Daily Capital Friday October 5, 1951 Alva James Carrel. Alva James CARREL, 60, died Thursday at his home in Auburn. He was born August 24, 1891, at Lawrence and had lived in Auburn 35 years. He was a stonemason and contractor. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Edith L. Manley, Wakarusa; a sister, Mrs. Anne Bean, Richland; a half-sister, Mrs. Lela Bean, Topeka; four half-brothers, Howard C. Manley, Topeka; Dr. J. Warren Manley, Kansas City, Kans.; Russell E. Manley, Vallejo, Calif., and Dr. David O. Manley, Cheyenne, Wyo.; two step-sisters, Miss Esther Manley, Spokane, Wash., and Mrs .Susie Arnold, Burlingame. His wife, Lula V. CARREL, died in November, 1929.
