The Topeka Daily Capital Saturday October 1, 1960 91-Year-Old Topekan Dies In Car Wreck. A 91-year-old Topeka woman was killed Friday in a three car collision near Pittsville, Mo. She was Mrs. Effie WHITE, 1260 Lane, who made her home with a sister, Mrs. A. A. Grainger of the same address. Also killed were Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Waite of Holden, Mo., daughter and son-in-law of Mrs. White. Mrs. Grainger said Mrs. White left Topeka about two weeks ago to visit her daughter at Holden. The accident Friday occurred as Mrs. White and the Waites were on their way to Kansas City. A press report said the Waite car collided with another vehicle, then crashed against a third car parked in a service station on U.S. 50. Mrs. White was born in Galesburg, Ill., July 9, 1869. Survivors, besides Mrs. Grainger, include two granddaughters, mrs. Garnett Ridenour of Warrensburg, Mo., and Mrs. Jean Brennan of Kansas City.
